Fly The Phoenix

Fly the Phoenix believes that education, as well as daily food, are basic human rights. In order to combat the imbalances of these rights, we are creating sustainable, 25-year cycle, educational community programs. These are funded by our local income-initiatives, challenges and international donations through our registered charity, Fly The Phoenix.

Over 30 local teachers to be employed in 2014

Our local teachers in Guatemala
Our local teachers in Guatemala

As we swiftly move into February all our projects are now back up and running after the holidays and we can eagerly look ahead to providing yet more education, employment and daily food and fruit to almost 1000 children across Latin America.

We currently employ over 30 local teachers in Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Ecuador and Perú and we plan to increase this number and supplement the food program, as well as providing better and more educational materials that will improve further the level of education we can provide.

It is thanks and testimony of your support during these past years, and years to come, that we can continue the projects, getting better each year and providing an education for these communities that had little chance or opportunity.

In 2014, we will be holding three charity challenges in Guatemala as well, so if you fancy heading down, seeing the projects and raising funds by challenging yourself, please see our website on http://www.thephoenixprojects.org/donate-now/challenges/

Thank you for your continued support during 2014!

cheers

Itzapa ready for the new school year

As we swiftly move into February all our projects are now back up and running after the holidays and we can eagerly look ahead to providing yet more education, employment and daily food and fruit to almost 1000 children across Latin America.

In Guatemala the new school year started in January in Itzapa and Santa María where we have increased the number of local teachers we employ, most of whom have been through our projects over the past years. We hope to supplement the food program, as well as provide better and more educational materials that will improve further the level of education we can provide.

It is thanks and testimony of your support during these past years, and years to come, that we can continue the projects, getting better each year and providing an education for these communities that had little chance or opportunity.

Construction plans for 2014

As we swiftly move into February all our projects are now back up and running after the holidays and we can eagerly look ahead to providing yet more education, employment and daily food and fruit to almost 1000 children across Latin America.

As well as increasing the number of local teachers we employ, supplementing the food program and providing better and more educational materials that will improve further the level of education we can provide we also plan to build more classrooms and play areas in all our countries.

In Guatemala, we have plans to refurbish 10 classrooms; in Honduras further classrooms as needed for the secondary school and college; similarly in Nicaragua, two new classrooms are in the pipeline. In Ecuador, depending on the government plans to close many rural schools, we will need to build our own classrooms to sustain our mountain communities; in Perú, our plans to start a secondary school are dependent on building new classrooms. A busy year ahead!

It is thanks and testimony of your support during these past years, and years to come, that we can continue the projects, getting better each year and providing an education for these communities that had little chance or opportunity.
