Aboriginal Literacy Foundation
The Aboriginal Literacy Foundation seeks to transform the lives of Indigenous children by focusing on literacy and numeracy education. Working in collaboration with local communities and partners, we develop literacy skills with Indigenous children so that they can succeed in school and beyond.
There is an enormous gap in English literacy rates between Indigenous and non Indigenous young people. Low competency in literacy is regularly linked with poor health, crime and low social and economic outcomes. We seek to apply our programmes to a wider population through our sister foundation, The World Literacy Foundation
