Gbowee Peace Foundation Africa
The Gbowee Peace Foundation Africa (hereinafter "Foundation") is a new nongovernmental organization founded and registered in Liberia in February 2012. Its creation was inspired by the personal and professional experiences of Nobel Laureate Leymah Gbowee, a social worker, peace activist, and mother. The mission of the Foundation is to promote and facilitate activities and initiatives aimed at promoting peace and reconciliation through the holistic participation of local communities. The Foundation envisions a peaceful and reconciled Africa that recognizes and utilizes the skills and talents of all, regardless of gender and ethnicity.
