The HeartGift Foundation mission is to provide lifesaving heart surgery to disadvantaged children living in developing countries where specialized medical intervention is scarce or non existent. Each day, hundreds of children around the world are born with life-threatening heart conditions. Children born in the United States receive immediate care and go on to live long and healthy lives. However, for children living in third-world countries, treatment is either unavailable or critically inadequate, resulting in the deaths of thousands of children each year.
