Programs

GlobeMed has several main components, those being: GlobalhealthU, External Community-Building, Internal Community-Building, GROW Internship and General Fundraising. In GlobalhealthU, our club members learn and discuss recent health issues and advances in order to stay informed in the realm of global health. In External Community-Building, our chapter works with other local philanthropies in our area, such as a local hospital, in order to spread our positive influence. Internal community building occurs mainly within our club and other clubs on campus, where we focus on bring global health equity to the attention of students around us. Our GROW internships are intensive four week visits to our partner organization where several ambassadors from our club travel to La Libertad, Ecuador to assess the progress of our projects, as well as implement new ones. Lastly, general fundraising refers to the majority of our work, where we run various events in order to raise money for this years project, the construction of a rapid HIV/AIDS testing lab.
