Mission

WINGS Foundation is a nonprofit agency that has provided services to adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse and their supporters since 1982. Our mission is to break the cycle and heal the wounds of childhood sexual abuse by providing support services, education, and advocacy to adults. Our services are available in English and Spanish to men and women ages 18 and over. Our program includes therapist-facilitated support groups, local and national referrals and information for primary and secondary victims of childhood sexual abuse, and referrals to qualified mental health therapists through our therapist referral database. WINGS also offers survivors, their supporters, and the community at large information and additional healing opportunities such as workshops and speaking presentations about childhood sexual abuse and its impact on adults. In 2011, WINGS provided over 1,800 units of victim service to our clients. WINGS Foundation currently employs five staff members who have over 17 years experience in the nonprofit victim service field and relies on over 30 dedicated volunteers to achieve its mission.

Programs

WINGS' Services for Survivors is a program for adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse, their loved ones, and service providers who work with survivors. Twenty two therapist-facilitated peer support groups for primary adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse; Two therapist-facilitated peer support group for secondary adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse; Two therapist-facilitated peer support group for Spanish-speaking primary survivors of childhood sexual abuse; Access to information and referrals in English and Spanish through a toll-free number for survivors, their supporters, and service providers working with survivors; Detailed information about and referral to qualified therapists who have experience in working with survivors; Educational presentations in English and Spanish to community members and organizations about childhood sexual abuse and its long-term impact; and Additional healing opportunities such as educational workshops or experiential events on topics relevant to survivors and those who support them.
