Objectives Art for children core mandates are attained by the following results: Enhance creativity for young people for self reliance, Improve coordination, networking among children and youth, Increased access to and improved quality of education and completion for children and youth Increased life skills and adult support for children and youth More peaceful conflict/dispute resolution between children, youth, and families/communities Improved protective environment for children and youth at community level to ensure that child rights are respected Increased awareness and support for child rights and children's psychosocial wellbeing among decision and policy makers

Programs

ACU program are focused in the following areas; 1. Education The followings are the activities that we do in schools; a) ACU conducts and train teachers on non competitive games and sports activities with children both in schools and out of school. b) ACU supports primary schools with games and sports materials to help the children and their teachers' carryout the activities. c) Provision of Art materials to promote art education in schools d) Training teachers in Music Dance and Drama and supply of MDD materials e) Training teachers in learning aid construction using local materials and provision of learning aid materials. f) Provision of infrastructures like desk, renovation and construction of teachers house, classrooms and toilets g) Organization exhibition among schools to share experiences and exchanging peace messages with children around the world. h) Formation and supporting Girls Education Movement activities in school i) Provision of sanitary facilities like hand washing facilities and sanitary pads for girls j) Provision of scholastic materials like books, pens bags etc 2. Child Rights Promotion a) Publication of Child Right magazine (Dwon Otino 'Kids Voice") Magazine. b) Organizing radio talk shows with children's agenda c) Child Parliament d) Promoting the right of children in conflict with the law through access to justice and Life skills building using BIG DEAL session e) Promoting the use of toll free child helpline f) Training and strengthening child protection committees 3. Psychosocial Support Art for Children Uganda psychosocial support is rooted in theme based life skills training program called BIG DEAL and IDEAL creative workshop for adults and children respectively. This are information pack designed by Art for Children Uganda to help children and adolescent deal with life after armed conflict or in difficult situation. The program is designed to help children and adolescents learn physical, emotional and social skills, helping them to express emotion, communicate and build relationships. 4. Livelihood Among the project that we do to enhance poverty are; a) Training young women and youth in prison with vocational skills in various sectors like hand crafts, tailoring, carpentry etc b) Training youth in entrepreneurship and business skills management c) Support traditional farming methods for sustainable income generation 5. Art and Culture ACU organise traditional music gala with school children to enhance their creativity and promote the to revive the already eroded culture.
