Here's a look at the festivities last December:
OUR FIRST SCHOOL YEAR COMPLETED
The Shree Santi Primary School has passed another milestone: the end of our first school year. The 74 students in our two kindergarten classes and one first grade class were evaluated two weeks ago before progressing to the next grade.
The academic year in Nepal runs from April to March. Classes will resume at the end of April, when we will add a second grade class. During the break, our teachers will receive specialized early childhood education teaching instruction in Kathmandu.

More than 200 residents of Ramche attended an inauguration ceremony for Shree Santi Primary School in late December 2008, during a visit by Santi School Project president Christopher Heun.
The crowd included local politicians, education officials, and principals from the other schools in Ramche VDC, the administrative area that includes the village where our school is located. The Santi School Project gave each of the principals a box of books and materials to show our support.
Clearly, the community supports our school. In fact, many parents even believe the instruction is superior to that at government schools; some have gone so far as to withdraw their children from a government school and enroll them at our school. We plan to address this discrepancy in the coming months.
We would like to thank all of our donors for helping to make our success possible.
