National Geographic: Leveraging GlobalGiving for Greater Good

Combining action with awareness, National Geographic is using GlobalGiving's API to create an easy way for web visitors to support projects in conservation, energy, environment, and society and culture.

  • National Geographic integrated our secure transaction processing system for credit card transactions, allowing them to outsource donation processing and donor management.
  • Rather than recreating the wheel, National Geographic relies on GlobalGiving to vet new organizations who want to participate, and to disburse funds globally.

JustGiving: Fundraising Around the World

JustGiving is a UK-based website that makes it possible for people to fundraise for a cause – a marathon, walkathon, birthday, or just because. By using GlobalGiving's API, JustGiving users now can raise funds for more than 500 projects from the GlobalGiving UK website, covering causes around the world.

  • JustGiving users can fundraise for projects worldwide, and still benefit from the UK government's Gift Aid scheme.
  • JustGiving has its own transaction system, so they use the API to pass donation data back to GlobalGiving.
  • Real time web services mean immediate fundraising options for disaster relief. JustGivers raised more than 750K for Japan earthquake/tsunami relief in 2011.

YourCause is Our Cause

GlobalGiving's partnership with YourCause helps us further our mission and reach, getting the largest amount of funds possible to our nonprofit partners by making it easy for donors to find and contribute to our partners' programs.

YourCause provides the CSRconnect employee engagement platform for corporations to facilitate multiple programs, including giving, and pulls all of GlobalGiving's international projects into its platforms via APIs.

  • YourCause can pull all GlobalGiving projects and organization information into its employee engagement tools in real-time.
  • GlobalGiving immediately processes credit card transactions that take place on YourCause's portals, and YourCause processes payroll deductions and matching funds for all transactions.
  • YourCause sends corporate matching funds to GlobalGiving for credit card and payroll deduction donations, allowing companies to send matching funds to international organizations with one process.
  • GlobalGiving works with YourCause's corporate partners to vet international organizations not yet on GlobalGiving for inclusion in their employee giving portals.
  • The use of APIs allows GlobalGiving and YourCause the flexibility to continuously improve and expand our joint offerings to meet your needs.
