Join us for 9-day journey through Guatemala where you will have unique opportunities to connect with local communities and learn firsthand about the work of three of GlobalGiving's partner organizations.  See how GlobalGiving dollars go to work building a school made of recycled materials, educating poor women about options for family planning, and instilling in young people the aptitude for and love of reading.  Designed by elevate destinations, the tour will also emphasize the natural and cultural beauty of Guatemala, including local markets, thriving coffee plantations, and Mayan ruins.

Family Planning for Guatemalans Living in Poverty

Guatemala  Health

Provides poor, rural and indigenous Guatemalans with access to short and long-term family planning methods. Family planning allows couples to freely determine the number and spacing of their children. read updates from the field

How You Can Help: 

Make a one-time monthly recurring donation

• $25 - pays for 1 man to receive a vasectomy, a simple procedure freeing him and his family from unplanned pregnancies
• $50 - provides 1 year of Depo Provera injections for 4 women allowing them to take control of their reproductive lives
• $85 - protects 2 women from unplanned pregnancies for up to 5 years through Jadelle (a reversible hormone implant)

• $150 - covers the cost of voluntary tubal ligations for 6 women, fulfilling their right to access permanent family planning methods
• $250 - allows 40 women to use oral contraceptives for 1 year, providing them with freedom to space their children as they wish
