Dozens of hospitals and clinics in Cuba have been seriously damaged by Hurricanes Gustav and Ike. "This devastation has left hospital staff unable to meet the medical needs of their patients and have thus put thousands of lives at risk," said Kathleen Hower, Executive Director. Global Links, one of a few federally licensed programs working in Cuba since 1994, is in a unique position to offer immediate and long-term assistance to support public health in the country.
