Approximately 50% of school age boys and 80% girls are illiterate. Our “Read Afghanistan” program provides original, customized and illustrated storybooks that have improved literacy levels by over 80% in primary and middle school grades. These bi-lingual storybooks offer additional opportunities for more advanced students who wish to learn English as a second language.
