Help us stop such abuse

Sadly in Bihar sometimes those who should be entrusted in protecting children turn into their worst abusers. This shocking photograph taken by the press relates to an incident where groups of street children were beaten up by certain members of the law enforcement community. Legal reasons prevent us from giving more details but all after hospital treatment all of the children were transferred to the safety of Rescue Junction. Rescue Junction will help prevent such incidents from ever occurring again. Please help us keep its doors open.

Baby Asha

This little girl was found wandering in a distressed state on the railway platform. All efforts are on to find her family. If we cannot find them she will be placed through the state approved adoption agency to find a new Indian family for her. The caring staff at Rescue Junction are giving her lots of love and attention.

Legal Help for Children in trouble

The project also works with the authorities in the local Remand Home ( Children's Jail) as many children have no guardians to look after their interests. Before the project many children some as young as ten had spent months or years behind bars for very minor offences or no offence at all.

Rescue Junction provides a safe haven

Rescue Junction's caring staff help provide a safe haven or children who have nowhere else to go. No child in need is ever turned away.

Children reunited with parents

Two lost boys await the arrival of their parents. In the past year alone over 25 lost and missing children have gone home thanks to Rescue Junction.

"Rescue Junction is all we have"

Forced to sell plastic bottles to earn enough to buy some food, Rescue Junction represents a real alternative to a dangerous life on the station. As "Pinto" a homeless child says, "Before Rescue Junction nobody cared about us, Rescue Junction us all we have, apart from each other"

Meeting the needs of the girl street child

Over a third of the children who come through the doors of Rescue Junction are girls. The project has dedicated female counsellors and the centre is being redesigned with the needs of girls in mind.

Enslaved Children Rescued

These children all from the Local District were rescued by Police following information received by rescue Junction staff from a Factory over 1,000 miles away. Some were as young as seven years old.
