Project's focus area: Increasing food security and agriculture skills training in Zimbabwe
Project Needs and Beneficiaries

Many of the resettled farmers in Mutasa District of Zimbabwe face depleted soils and inputs that are scarce and very expensive. With a drip irrigation kit, along with conservation agriculture skills training, these families will better utilize locally available resources and have a dependable source of food. We have already been funded to help 150 families so we have expanded our goal to reach an additional 100 families with a new budget of $24,950.

Activities
ASAP provides the drip irrigation kits that improve the production of gardening by producing three crop cycles. In addition, field officers provide seeds, fertilizer and training to be sure the family is fully prepared for gardening success.
Expected Outcomes
Adding another 100 families, a total of 250 families will survive & thrive because of this project! Recipients of drip kits are also members of ASAP's Internal Savings & Lending project which helps them improve their income generating activities.
Project Message
"Crops are of a much better quality as compared to the traditional watering system. Thank you ASAP!"
- Mrs. Mukwekwe, Farmer and mother of 4 with an unemployed husband.
