Project duration: Ongoing
Project's focus area: afghanistan zakat

In the past five years progress has been made, but Afghanistan still faces many challenges. Afghanistan has high infant, child and maternal mortality; low immunization; chronic nutritional deficiencies among children; low literacy levels; and low school enrollment and high drop-out rates, especially among girls.
We support maternal-child health initiatives, including community midwife education, newborn health programs and basic health services. We work to increase basic education to promote development and help prepare children for key roles in society. |
The programs will help support and sustain development efforts for Afghan children and families by delivering education especially for girls and preschool children and to continue to grow partnerships with communities and local health professionals. |
Our health team in Afghanistan is bringing the benefits of our proven and sustainable nutrition rehabilitation program to children in remote, northern reaches of the country.
