Majengo is one of the slums in Kenya that HIV prevalence is high, rape cases, abortion and early pregnancy too. Hardly a week passes without the occurrence of one of the above. Mrembo girls project is providing these girls with information, guidance and counseling through use of sports, theartre and video shows. The girls in turn are in a better position to make informed choices concerning their sexuality and lead healthy lives.

Mrembo project will be a resource and rescue center for over 200 girls and young women in Majengo slums. The program will reduce HIV infection, sexual abuse, early pregnancy, and abortion among the girls. |

I was working as a commercial sex worker in majengo in order to feed my one year old son.Not any more,thanks to the project for the counselling.I know own a small grocery shop.
