Project Needs and Beneficiaries

Homelessness is a global issue affecting every nation on the planet with an estimated one billion people currently homeless in our world today. What is needed in addition to aid and housing are fresh, innovative solutions that put the homeless person themselves at the center of the solution, empowering them to take responsibility for and change their own lives and their communities.

Activities

Female participation in football on the global stage of the Homeless World Cup is a catalyst for economic opportunity, leadership, and empowerment. Women are empowered to counter the effects of homelessness and become leaders in their communities.

Expected Outcomes

Over 70% of participants change their lives after participating. They go on to become leaders in their community with each woman working with 25 other homeless players creating a powerful change in their community.
