Project Needs and Beneficiaries

A chilling rule of thumb in war zones: for every person killed, another 10 are disabled. Here in the SF Bay area, veterans are returning home with serious brain injuries and post traumatic stress disorder. In addition, other people with disabilities find it increasingly harder to find jobs in our competitive world. The Rebuilding Alliance won the Employer of the Year Award for hiring people w disabilities who learned state-of-art software. We want to expand and hire 5 more.

Activities
Find and hire 3-5 persons with disabilities part time, to join our development team and learn salesforce.com technology. They’ll help organize speaking tours, connect with donors, join building project telecons, write for our teamblog, build buzz.
Expected Outcomes
We start by hiring a team with disabilities, to help the Rebuilding Alliance grow. Phase 2 becomes a job training program incl. job placement in Silicon Valley. Phase 3 expands overseas, into a job training program for people w disabilities there.
Project Message
I believe by rebuilding homes and communities, we help people shape their lives back together. That’s especially true for the disabled, who, despite obstacles, can do anything they set their minds to
