A devastating tropical cyclone struck Myanmar on the 2nd and 3rd May causing huge destruction and tremendous loss of life: 134,000 dead or missing. The World Food Program has distributed 8,500 tons of food to support 2.4 million people who remain homeless and hungry. However, more than 1.1 million people still don’t have adequate food, water or shelter. Help prevent a second wave of deaths from malnutrition and disease. WFP aims to feed 750,000 people in great need over the next six months.

WFP continues to distribute rice and beans, and high-energy biscuits for children. WFP is seeking to provide a full basket of rice, beans, cooking oil and salt to assist people in immediate need. |

The project will feed 750,000 people in Myanmar still in need of immediate food assistance in the next 6 months, and save the victims from the danger of deaths from malnutrition and disease. |

|
Time is of the essence and we are already reaching storm victims with food. We are mobilizing all possible resources to save lives given the massive disruption in food, water, and shelter.
