Nearly 50% of girls in Bangladesh, one of the world’s poorest countries, are married by the age of 15, and 60% become mothers by the age of 19. They also face insufficient access to health and education information and services and economic opportunities. This project offers 45,000 girls ages 10-19 in Bangladesh the chance to create better futures for themselves, be valued by and contribute to their communities, by strengthening their voices and becoming empowered.

This project creates safe environments where girls learn together, increase health awareness and acquire life skills and financial knowledge. We train adolescent females as peer educators and provide incentives to families to delay early marriage. |
To reach 45,000 girls to reduce age of marriage and pregnancy, support them to stay in school and seek health services, earn livings, make financial decisions, raise their voices, be valued by their communities–and ultimately reduce poverty. |

Save the Children serves impoverished, marginalized and vulnerable children and families in more than 120 nations. Our programs reach both children and those working to save and improve their lives, including parents, caregivers, community members and members of our partner organizations. We help save children's lives, protect them from exploitation and assist them in accessing education and health care.
Through disaster risk reduction, emergency preparedness, rapid humanitarian relief and long-term recovery programs, Save the Children also assists millions of girls and boys at risk of or affected by natural disasters, conflicts and ethnic violence.
