It was difficult for me to come forward and work for my own community...but now everyone supports me and their trust has given enough strength to fight back any injustice around my village.

It takes a lot of courage to fight back. She has helped resolved the issues of encroachment with the support of other villager leaders...
 
Working together


Earlier I was so afraid of going outside of my village but working with Seva Mandir helped me gain confidence and gave me voice, I started coming out of my shell. And today I take out the time and mobilize the community for 'our own' development...
 
Women Leader...


The leaders mobilize the community for development, organize meetings and facilitate the discussions and issues during meetings. They take a lead ahead and put the issues in front of the entire community...

To live for ownself is easy but to work with the community is a daunting task. I chose to lead my village anyway. I have been able to bring people of my village together to protect our common pasture land. We have enough grass and a fixed day of meeting to resolve issues every month.
