Project Needs and Beneficiaries

There were 3 earthquakes taking place in Daguan County of Yunnan Province from July to September in 2006. The triple quakes destroyed one primary school in Gaoqiao Township and one in Jili Township. This project aims to rebuild school buildings and other facilities for the Pingzi and the Chayuan Primary Schools to enable 104 school children to study in a safe environment.

Activities
For Chayuan school, to re-build a school building, toilet, 1 table tennis table and 24 sets of desks and chairs; For Pingzi school, to re-build a school building, toilet, 1 basketball rack, 1 methane gas pool and 1 table tennis table.
Expected Outcomes
The project rebuilds earthquake-damaged schools for 104 children. Children will no longer have to study in a dangerous environment and the new school will attract more students to study which in turn can help lift them out from poverty in the future.
Project Message
