Until the project set up creches and pre-school facilities, infants and children had to spend all day in the toxic enclosed atmosphere of the factories, which gave them bad health and kept them out of education. Many would start helping their mothers as soon as they are big enough.

Without the project these children would not have been able to play with such toys as their parents, earning around $1.50 a day, would not be able to afford them.

Deepali and her mother

Your generosity is allowing Deepali, not only to gain an education, but to build her confidence, and understand about her rights as a child and more specifically as a female child.

Deepali and Child Parliament at Global Action Week

During this week, activities for children are organised on a particular theme to give broader publicity. Last year's theme was Education for All and Deepali’s Child Parliament performed a street play. Deepali received a prize for the best performer.
